BlackBerry App World 4.0 Arrives in the Beta Zone

Research In Motion has announced a great deal of new stuff at the BlackBerry Jam Americas yesterday, including an updated flavor of its BlackBerry App World, set to be included in the upcoming BlackBerry 10 operating system.

However, it appears that the company hasn’t forgot about its existing users either, and that it is getting ready to make an updated version of the application available for them as well.

In fact, the new app release has been already published in the BlackBerry Beta Zone for testing, and those who have an account there can download it now as BlackBerry App World 4.0.

It does come with a nice range of enhancements packed inside, and all those who will choose to download and install it will certainly enjoy a better experience from their handsets.

Some of the main features the new application release arrives with include (via CrackBerry):

- Integration with BlackBerry Commerce Payment Services for Credit Card and PayPal Purchases - BlackBerry Commerce is a payment service which manages all credit card and PayPal purchases and transactions made on BlackBerry App World 4.0

- NFC Tag Integration - NFC tag integration will allow users to swap applicatons lists

- Ability to Permanently Delete Apps from My World - Users are able to permanently delete apps from My World

- Ability to Re-Install All Apps From My World - Users will have the ability to re-install all apps from My World

- SMS Authentication - Will allow carrier billing to function for certain carriers who switch from WAP to SMS

- Removal of Gifting/Begging and Ringtones - Ability to remove ringtones when user receives a gift/beg

Undoubtedly, many will consider the enhancements brought to user options in My World a great addition to the software, especially since it is now possible to remove apps and other content from there, provided that you don’t need it anymore.

Although the new software release does bring new features along, you should still keep in mind the fact that it is only a beta release, and that there might be some issues affecting your experience.

As mentioned above, those who would like to grab the new app flavor should head over to the BlackBerry Beta Zone.
