Apple Meeting with Swiss Federal Railway to Discuss Copied Clock Design

Apple is meeting up with the Swiss Federal Railway (SBB) in a few weeks from now to discuss the matter involving a clock design used by the iPad that looks almost identical to the one created in 1944 by former SBB employee Hans Hilfiker.

After accusing Samsung of blatantly copying its designs, hardware- and software-wise, Apple is now under scrutiny for seemingly copying a design with almost 100 percent fidelity.

A clock created by Hans Hilfiker in the ‘40s and inherited by the Swiss Federal Railway to trademark and own appears to be the exact same clock face employed by an application created by Apple for the iPad. See the comparison above.

Ever since the matter gained attention, Apple and the SBB had a little chat and convened to settle the matter out of court. According to CNet, representatives from both companies will soon meet and patch things up, likely by settling on a royalty fee.
