AMDs Trinity Launch Is Officially on Schedule

We reported here that AMD had pushed back its Trinity APU launch, but the company has promptly replied that it had not previously announced any date for the launch, so nobody could claim any delay.

Our take on this is that the exact date was indeed not officially announced by the company, but several reports had slated the date for the 1st of October, 2012, so we were a little surprised that we got word about a Tuesday launch.

The move to the 2nd of the same month could be a last minute internal call or it could just be the initial decision while all the reports talking about a 1st of October launch were off by a day.

Even if the launch will not happen in the first two days of the next week, the official word we got from AMD is as follows:

“We remain on track for a Q4 launch for Trinity component parts and aren't experiencing any delays.”

Therefore, the company is saying that, at least officially, no matter what our expectations were, if there was no official launch date announcement, there is no official delay.
