Adaptec Intros Amazing Series 7 RAID Cards Supporting 24 HDDs or SSDs

The new RAID controllers from Adaptec are truly revolutionary as these come with Optimized Disk Utilization and Adaptec maxCache 3.0 technologies that provide a unique combination of performance-oriented features for the professional user.

Adaptec Series 7 SAS/SATA RAID adapters are powered by PMC’s PM8015 RAID-on-Chip (RoC) that is basically an MIPS multi-threaded processor working with a decent 1024 MB amount of DDR3 DRAM.

All the new cards come with this amount of DRAM except the 71605E which is offered with 256 MB, but the most impressive is the Optimized Disk Utilization technology.

This, along with Adaptec maxCache 3.0, allows the user to mount SSD drives and hard drives, but then he can designate the SSDs as a very large cache.

This means that such a setup would have a greatly increased amount of caching space.

The Adaptec Series 7 SAS/SATA RAID adapters come with support for 8, 16 or even 24 SATA or SAS drives.
