Walking Dead Video Game Enhances Comic Book Story

Robert Kirkman, who is the main driving force behind The Walking Dead comic books, has revealed that he pushed developer Telltale Games to choose a different protagonist for the video game based on the universe because it would deliver a new experience for fans.

Speaking to the official PlayStation Blog, Kirkman admits that, “In the very early stages, it was very important to me that this game would be something that mattered to the fans. So this game very much takes place in the world of The Walking Dead comic book, and it deals with things that exist there.”

He then goes on to say, “we also wanted it to be a standalone story so that the comic and game can complement each other without contradicting each other. We wanted you to experience them both and get a fuller, richer experience.”

The Walking Dead has been a success in comic book form but also in its television and its video game incarnations.
