ASUS Vivo Tab RT Tegra 3 Tablet Runs Amazing Unreal 3 Demo

The IFA 2012 conference is now in full swing in Berlin, Germany and Nvidia got along with ASUS and put together a nice 3D demonstration on the new ASUS Vivo Tab RT tablet that we presented here. The new tablet is powered by Tegra 3 and will be launched this October.

The demo is not quite as “fluid” as Nvidia would like us to believe and that is clearly visible in the video.

We’re not saying that Tegra 3 is not a powerful chip, but if the stuttering and slowdowns visible in the Epic Citadel demo rear their ugly heads in real-time gaming, it won’t be a pleasant experience.

This demonstration is reportedly clear proof that porting software from iOS, Windows 7 and Android to Windows 8 and Windows RT is not “nearly impossible” as some have said in the past.

Nevertheless, the demonstration is a clear testament that Nvidia’s Tegra 3 and ASUS’ Vivo Tab RT are very powerful solutions that are able to run the full desktop DirectX 9 API and a fully-fledged Unreal Engine 3.X.

Therefore, ARM-powered Windows RT tablets will allow some serious gaming in the near future, especially when Qualcomm’s Adreno 320 will show its muscle.
