US Finally Returns Seized Domains to Legal Spanish Website

It's no real surprise to anyone that the Americans have the sense that they can police the world. But, unfortunately, they're entitled to it because, for the most part, they can. We're not talking about Iraq here, we're talking about coming in and taking down completely legal websites in foreign countries because Hollywood didn't like them.

The entertainment corporations' latest favorite weapon is the domain seizure, courtesy of their new favorite government agency the ICE, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, part of the all-knowing and all-powerful Homeland Security.

One of the most egregious examples of the audacity of the corporations and the US government was the seizure of two domains linked to Rojadirecta, a Spanish video streaming/link site that has been declared legal, in a court of law, twice in its home country.

That didn't faze the government bullies who held on to the domains for 18 months, before finally dropping the ridiculous case against the site.

It's great that Rojadirecta got its domains back, but the fact is, the US government seized two domains for a year and a half, most likely illegally. And it won't be seeing any punishment for it.
