IFA 2012: HTC Makes Desire X Official with Dual-Core Snapdragon S4 CPU

As expected, Taiwanese handset maker HTC has just unveiled the Desire X Android smartphone. Positioned between the One V and One S, the HTC Desire X will be available for purchase in EMEA and Asia Pacific regions starting next month.

The smartphone packs a powerful enough 1 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor manufactured by Qualcomm, which is accompanied by an Adreno 203 graphics processing unit and 768MB of RAM.

When it comes to storage, users will have around 4GB of internal memory at their disposal, though a microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB) is available as well.

In addition, HTC offers 25GB of free storage via Dropbox. Keep in mind that this offer is available to those who sign up to it before the end of 2013. Obviously, users will need to sign up with their own HTC Desire X device.

Furthermore, HTC Desire X sports a 4.0-inch Super LCD WVGA capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution and 16 million colors.

The smartphone packs a 5-megapixel rear camera featuring HTC's proprietary ImageChip, an f/2.0, 28mm wide-angle lens, BSI sensor, HDR mode and automatic adjustable flash.

Given the fact that HTC did not drop Beats, and has no intention of doing so, the Desire X features integrated Beats Audio technology for an immersive entertainment experience.

HTC Desire X is powered by Google's Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system integrated with Sense 4 UI.

Last but not least, the phone’s 1650 mAh Li-Ion battery is rated by the manufacturer for up to 830 hours of standby time (750 hours in 3G mode) or up to 10 hours of talk time (20 hours in 3G mode).

HTC Desire X is an extension of your social life. If you're looking to enjoy and share high quality multimedia, wherever you are, this is the phone for you. It not only looks and sounds great, but also provides a super-fast, highly personal mobile experience at a great price,” said Jason Mackenzie, president, Global Sales and Marketing for HTC Corporation.
