Wajam Now Works in Safari on Your iPhone

Social search company Wajam is offering its services to iPhone owners for the first time, allowing users to get friends' recommendations using Google Search and Google Maps.

Wajam is a social service that offers an easy way to get your friends' opinions on products to buy, videos, photos, links on searches conducted in Google through Safari, and even places to go.

To install Wajam for iPhone, users must simply visit Wajam.com to sign up for an account and then download their Wajam profile.

Users will also be able to get recommendations via Facebook, Twitter and Google+. The mobile-enhanced version of Wajam is TRUSTe Certified and has security certifications from McAfee and Norton as well.

Martin-Luc Archambault, founder & CEO of Wajam, believes "Bringing Wajam to the iPhone is an incredible breakthrough that gives mobile users the ability to access their friends' recommendations in the apps they already love and use.”

According to Archambault, most people consult with a friend before making a decision. Before Wajam existed, “no one had been able to integrate all your Facebook, Twitter & Google+ data within a typical Google search...and now we have designed a way to take that experience mobile," he said.

Archambault offered an example, saying, “if you are looking for a good restaurant in San Francisco, you would usually search on Google with your smartphone.”

“With Wajam, you get recommendations from friends you trust in addition to organic Google results. By selecting the result of your choice, you'll be able to see the restaurant's location in Google Maps, along with other nearby restaurants your friends have recommended,” he said.

Wajam has plans to move beyond the iPhone when the time is right, as well as to deploy its services through other search engines and social networks.
