Guild Wars 2 Players Targeted by Scammers with Password Reset Emails

It seems that hackers have already begun targeting Guild Wars 2 players, as quite a lot of people have revealed that they received unsolicited password reset emails on behalf of the game’s publisher, NCSoft.

Guild Wars 2 is one of the biggest games of the summer, offering players access into a sprawling massively multiplayer online world, but without the necessity of a monthly subscriptions.

While the launch has gone smoothly, developer ArenaNet and publisher NCSoft have encountered a variety of problems.

We have already heard about the studio starting to suspend players because they used offensive names or language, and now NCSoft has released a statement telling players to ignore any unsolicited password reset emails.

"If you have been emailed regarding a reset request for your password, but you haven't requested it, as always please be ever vigilant when it comes to emails sent to you in regard to your game account. If you didn't request the email, do not click the link, just ignore it," the publisher said.

Apparently, hackers are now trying to get into the accounts of Guild Wars 2 players and this wave of password reset requests is the first step.
