Telstra Offers HTC Desire C on Prepaid for $229 AUD (240 USD or 195 EUR)

One of the cheapest Android smartphones launched by HTC, the Desire C, has been available for purchase in Australia for quite some time now.

Various Australian carriers offer the HTC Desire C on contract, but Telstra has just added the smartphone to its prepaid offering.

According to Ausdroid, the HTC Desire C can be purchased via Telstra for only $229 AUD (240 USD or 195 EUR) on prepaid. Check it out here.

Made official back in May, this is one of the few smartphones in the Desire family, which comes with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system out of the box.

The smartphone hit shelves back in June and is already available for purchase in most regions of the world.

Aimed at customers who wish to grab their first Android phone, HTC Desire C offers a smooth user experience through Sense 4.0 UI.

Although it’s been placed into the budget-friendly category, the Desire C comes with Beats Audio technology, as well as HSDPA (14.4Mbps) and HSUPA (5.76Mbps) support.

HTC Desire C sports a decent 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 320 x 480 pixels resolution and 16 million colors.

As expected, the smartphone is powered by a low-performance 600 MHz single-core processor, which is complemented by an Adreno 200 graphics processing unit and 512MB of RAM.

In addition, the Desire C embeds 4GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD memory card. It is also worth mentioning that the smartphone comes with 25GB of free cloud storage via Dropbox application.

There’s also a 5-megapixel rear camera with video recording, as well as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and microUSB connectivity. The phone’s 1230 mAh Li-Ion battery is rated by the manufacturer for up to 570 hours of standby time or up to 6 hours of talk time.
