Super Talent Also Has a Windows To Go Certified Flash Drive

As we expected, Kingston is not the only company eager to take advantage of the Windows To Go technology supported by Microsoft's Windows 8 Enterprise operating system.

Windows To Go allows the Windows 8 Enterprise operating system to be installed on a flash drive and then run on any system.

Once the USB stick is inserted in a port, it boots the PC and opens the OS, just as users left it. This works on any laptop or desktop.

Super Talent is the second IT company, that we've written of, to officially present a flash drive ready and eager to grant such powers to buyers.

Called RC8, the flash drive has eight NAND channels, a capacity of 32 GB, 64 GB or 128 GB and transfer speeds of up to 270 MB/s when reading and 240 MB/s when writing.

"We are proud to announce the certification of our USB 3.0 Express RC8 with Windows To Go. Microsoft Corp. is a valued partner of SuperTalent Technology. Our R&D team has been devoted to a successful launch for both partners," says Abraham Ma, CEO, Super Talent Technology

Much to our chagrin, we once again have to say that we do not know when and for what price the newcomer, or newcomers, will sell. Since Super Talent doesn't say anything about the development stage of the drive, we'll at least assume it is passed the beta stage, unlike Kingston's DataTraveler Workspace.

"We are pleased to announce Supertalent as one of our go-to-market partners for Windows To Go. We are committed to providing our customers with a rich, consistent, and personalized Windows 8 experience even when they run Windows 8 from a USB drive. Super Talent will offer drives specifically optimized for Windows To Go to help us fulfill this vision," said Karri Alexion-Tiernan, director of product marketing, Windows Enterprise, Microsoft.
