Limited Edition LG Optimus Vu JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Arriving in Japan

Japanese carrier NTT Docomo is about to release a limited edition LG Optimus Vu, which is called “JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.”

The smartphone is a tribute to Manga artist Hirohiko Araki. He is best known for his “JoJo's Bizarre Adventure” series, which was first published in 1987.

Most of Araki's books have been translated and released in Europe, but the United States got only one part of the “JoJo's Bizarre Adventure” series, probably due to some copyright issues with some of the references that appear in Araki's stories.

Anyway, Japanese customers will be able to purchase the LG Optimus Vu “JoJo's Bizarre Adventure” starting August 30.

However, those who are dying to get this should know that NTT Docomo plans to limit sales of this edition of Optimus Vu to only 750 per day.

Due to the fact that the device is only available online, the carrier wishes to avoid overloading its online shop, so as soon as the sales volume reaches 750 in a day, it will stop selling the smartphone until the next day.

According to NTT Docomo, there will be a number of 15,000 LG Optimus “JoJo's Bizarre Adventure” devices available for purchase beginning August 30.

The smartphone features model number docomo NEXT series L-06D JOJO and will be illustrated and signed by Hirohiko Araki. Obviously, the illustrations will reflect the world described in the author's books and were supervised by Araki.

The device will also include some standard and live wallpapers, as well as popular illustrations, but also the theme of six Kisekae that reflects the world of JoJo. Lots of other exclusive content will be pre-loaded on the smartphone.

The limited edition LG Optimus Vu will be equipped with a dual-core processor clocked at 1.5 GHz, “Xi” ultra-high speed support (LTE), infrared and NOTTV broadcasting service.

The smartphone will be powered by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system out of the box and will pack 1GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory.
