Instapaper 4.2.4 iOS Improves Pagination Performance

Fans of Marco Arment’s popular offline reading app Instapaper should be glad to learn that this week’s update brings improved pagination performance and dark-mode colors, just to name a couple of enhancements.

Instapaper version 4.2.4 for iPhone and iPad removes instapaper.com/z short URLs from all remaining Twitter sharing methods with Arment explaining that, “now that t.co URLs are supported by nearly all apps, custom short URLs are unnecessary and they only inconvenience Twitter readers, so they're gone.”

“Your links are yours and should have as few intermediaries as possible,” he adds.

The update further removes the "Print" feature which Arment says was rarely used. In return, the developer added Buffer, Chrome, and the upcoming iCab Reading List to the Share panel.

Another new addition is a "Report a text problem" option included in article footers. Using this feature, customers can help improve Instapaper's parsing of certain pages, says Arment.

Further improvements can be noticed in the Pinboard login and syncing departments.
