Heidi Montag on Plastic Surgery: Im More Than Just That

Three years ago, Heidi Montag, perhaps one of the most overexposed reality stars ever (not including Kim Kardashian) hit rock bottom after several attempts at launching a career past “The Hills”: she underwent a drastic surgical makeover.

Though still very young, the buxom blonde went under the knife again and had a surgical marathon of 10 separate interventions in a single day.

It was the final nail in the coffin of her career, as she would later admit, making her lose whatever credibility she might have enjoyed once.

Today, after so much time, Heidi talks to Celebuzz about how she'd like if people believed there was more to her than what she did 3 years ago.

Filled with regrets for being so quick to do something she will never be able to undo, Heidi says she's paid her dues to the public and is actually looking forward to the future now.

The journey here was extremely painful though.

“I wouldn’t do it again, that’s for sure. It was a lot more than I could have expected,” Heidi says. It's just now that her surgeries are starting to settle and she's finally regaining the confidence in herself.

“I really hate talking about it now because it was so long ago. I was a much different person back then to who I am now. I didn’t realize how much of The Hills – and going through that – would define who I am,” Montag says with regret.

“I’m really looking forward to the next phase in my life. I know I’ll never be able to get away from a lot of it, but I won’t give up trying to prove I’m more than just that,” she adds.

Right now, she's pretty much broke, with her reality TV career fizzling and her investing all the money she made from it in a music career that never took off.

She's been spending these past 3 years more or less out of the spotlight, healing and realizing her mistakes and, more importantly, learning from them.

“I feel really thankful that it all came out so well – it could have been really disastrous,” she says.

“I lived and I learned – and I wouldn’t really recommend it for other people. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be going through it – physically, mentally, emotionally, recovering. But, I’m just glad it’s done and that everything healed so well,” Montag adds.

She says she has several projects lined up for 2012 but won't go into details. Perhaps she's afraid of jinxing them.
