Grand Theft Auto V Release Date Once Again Avoided by Publisher

Take-Two Interactive, the publishing partner of developer Rockstar Games, has once again avoided announcing a release date for the upcoming Grand Theft Auto V project, limiting itself to saying that it’s making substantial progress.

Take-Two Interactive presented its financial earnings yesterday and, while it recorded a loss due to the lower-than-expected sales of both Max Payne 3 and Spec Ops: The Line, the publisher is looking forward to quite a few big releases in the near future, including Borderlands 2 or BioShock Infinite.

However, Grand Theft Auto V isn’t among the proposed heavy hitters, as Take-Two limited itself to saying that GTA V was “in full development and making substantial progress.”

Take-Two CEO, Strauss Zelnick, added that a release date would be confirmed by Rockstar when the time was right and reiterated the publisher’s faith in the studio by saying that, “We're blessed to be working with Rockstar.”

Given this reluctance to confirm a launch date, it’s possible that GTA V might appear next year.
