ArenaNet Investigates Guild Wars 2 Issues

Players who are part of the head start period for the upcoming Guild Wars 2 have reported a number of problems with the game, including an inability to sign into the servers and various error messages.

However, the development team at ArenaNet has announced that it was investigating all reports ahead of the full launch.

Most of the log-in problems seem to be linked to European game servers, but some of them are also related to the United States. In addition, there are problems with home world changes, problems with paying for the game and a range of issues linked to the server connections.

Moreover, some of the in-game rewards are also being delivered incorrectly and world versus world gameplay is also experiencing scoring problems.

The most reported problem has error code 503 and offers the message “Web server received an invalid response while acting as a gateway or proxy server.”

The official statement from ArenaNet reads, “At present, our server team are working on the underlying problems that are causing login issues, thank you for your continued patience. We have re-established server connectivity and are aware of some Error 42 issues. If you find this error please try again to reconnect.”

The company has also acknowledged that many players are looking to get world transfers and that’s what generated the error that has the code 1032.

ArenaNet has promised that all the issues that the player base is currently reporting will be fixed before the full launch.

Guild Wars 2 uses a unique business model that allows players to buy the packaged game, either physically or digitally, and then play the MMO for as long as they want, with the company set to make money from initial sales and microtransactions.

Guild Wars 2 will be launched tomorrow for those who have not pre-ordered the game, exclusively on the PC.
