Amazon Snags Battlestar Galactica, Heroes to Go Well with the Upcoming Kindle Fire 2

To go well with whatever it's got cooking for the September announcement, be it a new tablet, two tablets, a phone and so on, Amazon managed to grab even more content for its video streaming offer, part of Amazon Prime.

It partnered with NBCUniversal, bringing shows like Battlestar Galactica, Parks and Recreations, and Heroes to the line-up.

"We continue to invest heavily in our content selection for Prime members, and have now reached over 22,000 movies and TV episodes available instantly with unlimited streaming," Amazon boasted.

Amazon already had some 1,000 shows from NBCUniversal, but the latest deal is about the more high-quality content, in terms of shows, that the media giant has to offer. That said, Netflix still boasts a selection some three times larger than Amazon’s, though there are shows or seasons on Amazon that Netflix doesn't have.
