Wii U Japanese Release Includes New Super Mario Bros. U and Monster Hunter 3G

Nintendo has revealed the first- and third-party video games that will be available on the new Wii U soon after it is launched in Japan on December 8, with the highlights including New Super Mario Bros. U, Assassin’s Creed III and Monster Hunter 3G HD Version, part of one of the most successful series on the Japanese market.

First-party launch titles include:

New Super Mario Bros. U
Wii Fit U
Game & Wario
NintendoLand
Pikmin 3

The games that third-party publishers will deliver during December are:

Assassin’s Creed III
Batman: Arkham City – Armored Edition
FIFA 13
Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge
Orochi 2: Hyper
Tekken Tag Tournament 2: Wii U Edition
ZombiU
Rayman Legends
Mass Effect 3
Monster Hunter 3G HD Version

Other three games, which lack an actual launch date but should be available soon after the Wii U is introduced, are:

The Wonderful 101
Bayonetta 2
Dragon Quest X

The fact that Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is missing from the list despite being officially announced by Activision might mean that the game is delayed in the territory, probably to a date during 2013.

It’s also unclear why games like Darksiders II and Aliens: Colonial Marines, which have been confirmed for the Wii U, are missing from the list of titles that will be launched on the Nintendo home console when it is launched.

Japanese gamers get access to the Wii U last, well after those in Europe and in North America, despite the fact that Nintendo has its headquarters there.

The new home console will arrive in two versions: a Basic one that only include the device, a GamePad, a HDMI cable and the needed AC adapters, and a Premium package that also adds a subscription to the Nintendo Network, a service that cannot be obtained any other way.
