iOS 6 App Store Now Displays Passbook-Enabled Apps

iOS 6 comes with Passbook, a new Apple-designed application that stores all your tickets and passes in one secure place on your iPhone. It doesn’t do much when you first install the new software update, but it does take you to the App Store to get you started.

Passbook launches to an info screen that tells you what the app is good for, but it doesn’t feature any content of its own. Instead, it relies on third-parties to support it with tickets and passes to events and locations around the United States. Just hit the App Store button and it will take you to the page pictured above (click to expand view).

Apps like Fandango, MLB.com At Bat, Ticketmaster, and Walgreens are the first to jump on the Passbook bandwagon. Expect more to come in the near future, and expect Apple itself to include a new featured section of Passbook-enabled titles in the iTunes Store.
