FIFA 13 Ultimate Team Web App Exploit Uncovered

The FIFA 13 Ultimate Team web app, which was released by EA in anticipation of the full-fledged game, has apparently been the victim of an exploit that allowed users access to packs of the best players in the sport, like Lionel Messi, which were then traded for exorbitant sums of in-game money to others.

FIFA Ultimate Team feature has been a core feature for past games and with FIFA 13, EA is implementing a variety of new systems to keep it as secure as possible.

Sadly, according to Eurogamer, an exploit has affected the web app of the FIFA 13 Ultimate Team mode. This glitch allowed users unrestricted access to cards with top football players, which were then sold onto the online marketplace for in-game cash.

EA has since taken the web app down for maintenance but it’s yet to reveal a response about the exploit.

Meanwhile, actual users are demanding details from EA and ask that a server rollback be executed in order to fix the damage that’s been done to the in-game economy.

Expect to hear something official soon, as EA wants the actual release of FIFA 13 to go off without a hitch on September 28.
