Dutch Hacker Develops Incredibly Energy-Efficient Computer

Seeing how most of the time people “forget” to turn off their computers whilst attending to other business, it comes as no surprise that significant amounts of energy simply go to waste.

However, thanks to a Dutch hacker known as Emile Nijssen, this issue might soon be a thing of the past.

Thus, this man designed and manufactured a computer that only burns 5.9 watts when idle, and 74.5 watts when working at full load.

For those who are not familiar which computers and how they work, it seems that your run-off-the-mill model typically consumes 30 watts in idle mode and 150 watts at full mode.

Therefore, it can be argued that, should the technology brought forth by Emile Nijssen someday become available to the general public, major progress could be made in terms of global energy efficiency.
