Apple: Compare Our iPhones, See What Works for You

After discontinuing the iPhone 3GS, Apple is proud to offer customers three sleek iPhones that all have looks to kill, as well as impressive technical specifications to boot. The Cupertino, California-based tech giant may want everyone to pick up the new iPhone 5, but they also respect their customers’ needs. So they’re asking you which one you want to buy.

A comprehensive chart on Apple.com (pictured left) shows all the benefits of each smartphone currently sold by the company - the iPhone 4, the iPhone 4S, and the iPhone 5.

Apple starts out with the processor comparison but offers no technical details regarding their performance. The Cupertino mammoth seemingly trusts the public to know that newer is always better in this area.

The supported carriers are then listed (AT&T, Verizon and Sprint), followed by a choice in color. The iPhone 5 is the only model that doesn’t just come in black and white - you can get it in Black & Slate and White & Silver.

Further down the specs lane comes the weight & dimensions, a game where iPhone 5 again has no adversary. The device is lighter, despite being taller than its predecessors. It’s also about 18 percent thinner.

The cellular and wireless capabilities are then laid out. Apple’s newest iPhone notably has 4G LTE connectivity worldwide, as well as other wireless enhancements.

The iPhone 5 is also unique on the SIM card front. It uses a new “micro” standard. But one thing it has in common with the iPhone 4S is Siri, listed under Intelligent Assist.

Apple also lists a comparison between the cameras, video recording, headphones (where iPhone 5 again leads the pack with the all-new EarPods), connectors, battery life, storage capacities and, lastly (but probably most important for whoever is reading that page), the price.

Which iPhone best suits your needs?
