This week’s review is for FTL, a space-based rogue-like created by Subset Games, which manages to combine superb and tense ship-to-ship battles with some really interesting long-term resource management choices.

We also have two Weekend Reading pieces: one about the difference between delivering a photorealist video game and one that creates emotion and another about Borderlands 2 and the mistakes of the first game in the series.

When it comes to Gamer Diaries, we have only one that seeks to replicate the real-world elections for President of the United States in The Political Machine 2012 from Stardock.

We also have a Quick Look for the much-awaited Borderlands 2.

We also deliver the usual EndWeekGame piece and a selection of the most important news from the past week.
