THQ Excited About Mike Tyson Presence in WWE 13

Cory Ledesma, who is the leading executive in charge of the WWE series, has expressed excitement about the presence of Mike Tyson, the legendary boxer, in the upcoming installment of the wrestling series.

The executive said, “We’re excited to have Mike Typson on board, he hasn’t been in a videogame for a very long time and what’s really cool is that one – he played such a cool part in the Attitude era of the single player campaign, and that timeframe back then.”

He added, “He was such a big star at that time – well he still is a big star – but at that time he was around his peak of popularity, and for the WWE to introduce a character like that was a really bold and ambitious statement.”

Ledesma believes that the image angle is complemented by the different fighting style that Mike Tyson brings to WWE 13, based on tough punches and haymakers where other characters use a more complex move set.

Mike Tyson is best known for his face tattoo and his appearances in various movies in the last few years, but once he was the best professional boxer, forever tainted by controversy for the chunk of ear he took out of Evander Holyfield in 1997.

Mike Tyson will be one of the stars of the upcoming WWE 13, based upon the Attitude era of the wrestling promotion, allowing gamers to live out the various rivalries and storylines that have developed between the various characters.

The new Predator 2.0 game engine will allow players more options when it comes to finishing moves and counters, making the fighting deeper and closer to the real world.

WWE 13 is set to arrive on the Xbox 360 from Microsoft, the PlayStation 3 and the Nintendo Wii on October 30 and on November 1 in Europe.
