Remember Mes Combat Has Input from Street Fighter Producer

Remember Me, the intriguing action game from French studio Dontnod Entertainment, has received input from Capcom’s Yoshinori Ono, the producer of the Street Fighter franchise, as the Japanese publisher wants to make sure the combat in the game delivers a satisfying experience.

Capcom surprised Gamescom 2012 attendants last week when it confirmed Remember Me, a special action game set in a cyberpunk future where players control an elite agent named Nilin who’s hunted by French authorities that are too scared of her powers.

While the game has been worked on by developer Dontnod Entertainment for quite some time, Capcom, who agreed last year to publish it, has also taken an interest in making sure the title delivers a top-notch experience.

Part of this collaboration was input from Street Fighter producer Yoshinori Ono, who made sure that the combat was satisfying.

"He's my boss and he and I speak very regularly about the game, and he's come out with me to Paris," Capcom senior producer Mat Hart told Eurogamer about Ono. "He knows the team and knows the game very well. I always benefit from his wisdom when I'm chatting to him about how we're progressing."

Hart compared the project with how Capcom is working alongside Ninja Theory for the upcoming DmC Devil May Cry.

"It's a bit like the situation Capcom has with Ninja Theory. The strategy of western development is building teams together - Capcom and a developer coming together and making a game together - as opposed to quite an old-fashioned approach of being adversarial. We're moving away from that.”

Capcom fans will definitely be in for a treat and the company wants to make sure that the game delivers a great experience.

“When we saw the game way back last year, we instantly knew this had the DNA to support the Capcom brand and be a really strong part of our portfolio. This is going to be a major franchise for us. So having that kind of Capcom crunch you expect, of course, and that's stuff we want to talk about in a much wider context as we get closer to launching the game. At this stage it's fair to say Capcom fans are going to enjoy this game."

More details about Remember Me and its various features will be revealed as we get closer to its 2013 release date.
