Optus Rolls Out LG Optimus L7 QuickMemo Update

One of the powerful devices in the L-Style series, the Optimus L7 was officially unveiled back in February, a few days ahead of Mobile World Congress 2012 trade fair opened.

The smartphone is available in Australia via Optus for quite some time now. The good news is that this device runs Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich platform, even though it’s not among the most powerful smartphones available on the market.

The device is equipped with a single-core processor clocked at 1 GHz, which is complemented by an obsolete Adreno 200 GPU and only 512MB of RAM.

Although LG has yet to announce whether or not the Optimus L7 will receive an Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update in the future, it appears that the company is pretty concerned when it comes to the phone’s functionality.

In this regard, Optus and LG have just launched a new software update for the Optimus L7, which is meant to improve the phone’s functionality.

The carrier has made it official on its Facebook account that LG has provided a new software update for the Optimus L7, which brings a new feature called QuickMemo.

According to Optus, “the update is designed to deliver faster software performance and includes the new software feature called QuickMemo.

QuickMemo is a handy new feature from LG that lets you capture a screen image then jot down notes on the screen to easily share the combined graphic via email, messaging and social network sites
.”

The update is pushed OTA (over the air), so LG Optimus L7 owners will be prompted automatically by the phone to update their software. Optionally, they can search for the update manually by going to the software update section in the phone’s menu.

Given the fact that there are no other details on this software update, we can safely assume that QuickMemo is the only new feature included.
