NBA Live 13 Might Be a Digital Only Release

A new listing of the Xbox Live Rewards includes NBA Live 13 – Digital and NBA Live 13 – DLC, which might mean that the upcoming basketball simulation title from EA Sports could only be launched via digital means when it is scheduled to arrive later during 2012.

The lack of information linked to the series reboot, which arrives after the series has been dormant for two years, has prompted some fans to question whether it was still in development.

The EA Sports team behind NBA Live 13 has claimed to have an aggressive launch plan for the game and is currently working to get it to beta state.

NBA Elite 11 was canceled just one week before launch because of concerns over quality and since then the mainstream basketball simulation genre was dominated by the NBA 2K series from Take Two.

NBA Live 13 is expected to arrive starting with October on the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3.
