iPhone 5 September 21 Launch Corroborated by AT&T

After Verizon set in place an all-hands-on-deck policy for September 21-30, AT&T has now instated the same blackout, corroborating claims that Apple’s iPhone 5 will become available at major carriers during that timeframe.

An AT&T sales representative has confirmed to TechCrunch that “AT&T staff has been given a vacation blackout from September 21 to September 30,” adding that “blue carrier employees are undergoing training for an ‘iconic release.’”

Various reputable sources in the tech industry have reported that Apple plans to hold a special event on September 12 during which the iPhone 5 (the sixth-generation iPhone) will be unveiled.

Physical availability of the handset is expected on September 21, at which time all iPhone carriers will begin selling the phone through their stores.
