Hacker Group Anonymous Claims New PSN Hack, Sony Says Its Lying

Infamous hacker group Anonymous has just released a 50GB database of user information onto the web, claiming that it has stolen it from one of Sony’s PlayStation Network servers through a new breach it found in the company’s service. Sony, on the other hand, claims that the group is lying.

Gamers still remember the great cyber-attack suffered by Sony’s PlayStation Network last year, which forced the company to take the whole service down for a prolonged period of time.

Now, hacker collective Anonymous, one of the groups blamed by Sony for the attack, has claimed, through the voice of one of its members, that it has breached PSN servers once more.

According to the hacker, via CVG, 50GB worth of user information has been stolen from Sony.

The company has quickly retorted and revealed to CVG that the Anonymous member is completely lying.

"We've confirmed that the recent claim that PlayStation Network was illegally hacked and that customer passwords and email addresses were accessed is completely false,” the representative said.

As of yet, it’s unclear if the attack is true, but PSN users should change their passwords, just to be on the safe side.
