Google May Launch Multiple Nexus Phones with LG, Sony and Samsung

Although we recently reported on the upcoming release of the next-generation Nexus smartphone, it turns out that this was just the tip of the rumor.

The folks over at Android Noodles have uncovered an NTT Docomo internal document, which mentions not one, but three Nexus devices, which will be launched by the end of the year.

According to this document, Japanese carrier NTT Docomo plans to release the Sony Xperia NEXUS (SO-04E), LG Optimus NEXUS (L-08E) and Samsung GALAXY NEXUS II (SC-02E).

We’re still wondering if we should be thrilled about Google’s new Nexus lineup of smartphones, though the search giant has yet to make any official comments.

However, given the fact that we don’t have any other information on the recently leaked devices we should threat this lightly until more details become available.

Still, we can safely assume that Google will launch at least one Nexus device by the end of the year and rumors suggest that this will be manufactured by Samsung.

Surprisingly, an HTC Nexus device is missing from NTT Docomo’s upcoming roadmap, though the Taiwanese company might still be on track to release a Nexus phone but not in Japan.

We don’t expect future Google Nexus smartphone to be packed with top notch features, but we can speculate they will be pretty decent when it comes to hardware in order to be able to run Google’s latest Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean operating system.

We should also take into consideration the fact that these Nexus smartphones are among the first to receive major software updates, so they will have to be positioned in the mid- to high-end range in terms of specs.

Hopefully, we will be able to confirm some of the devices mentioned in NTT Docomo’s roadmap, so stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
