Digging Deeper for The Secret World Delayed to September

Video game developer Funcom has announced that the new Issue #2: Digging Deeper update for its MMO The Secret World would be delayed to September 11 after being initially set to arrive on August 28.

Funcom is straight up about the reasons for the delay, saying that the recent layoffs have “naturally affected the production schedule as work on readjusting the team and our internal development processes”.

Fucmom let go of a number of employees after The Secret World was first launched, but it says that it’s still on track to offer long term support for the MMO and that it has the resources to keep delivering new content to the game.

The Secret World was the big MMO launch of the summer and it aims to combine a traditional genre experience with a puzzle-powered approach to side quest development.

Rumors suggest that The Secret World might go free-to-play before the end of the year.
