Coolest iOS Apps: PowerCam, the All-in-One Camera App

The iOS App Store is chock full of camera-apps that do all sorts of tricks like apply filters, make panoramas, smudge your photos, share entire libraries with your close ones, and shoot video with old-school effects.

Problem is, you can’t have them all in one app. Or can you?

The code-savvy people at Wondershare Software have done it again! It wasn’t enough that they took the desktop market by storm with their huge portfolio of multimedia applications – apparently they’re planning a siege on iOS too.

Having reached over 30 million downloads in six months, PowerCam simply had to be featured in our Coolest iOS Apps column at one point.

It offers everything you need from a digital cam app, such as awesome filters and effects (Vintage, Retro, and LomoCyan); the ability to take photos through the app, or to edit your own; shoot video while applying video effects as you move about; shoot real panoramas and tilt-shifted footage, and lots of more cool stuff.

PowerCam also lets you make nifty collages. You actually get to work with every photo in part by touching it, without ruining the collage. Shake your device and the frame gets rearranged.

When you like one set, just save it and share your work with the world through the most popular social networks out there (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Flickr and Tumblr, or just plain email).

Most features are free, while some of them are available as in-app purchases. If you’re a fan of Instagram and other photo-sharing services that come with effects out-of-the-box, you’ll fall in love with PowerCam.

Video buffs will simply love the idea of shooting any-size footage with real-time effects, not to mention the ability to share the clip instantly (without having to resize it) as they end their take.
