As Tropical Storm Isaac Is About to Hit, Google Put Together a Crisis Map

Google has been using technology to help with natural disasters for many years now.

With the tropical storm Isaac hurtling towards the US' southern shores and projected to reaching hurricane status before hitting the coast, the Google Crisis Response team put together an informative map of the projected path of the tropical storm as well as any resources and information available.

Google is working with the Red Cross, the Florida Division of Emergency Management and various government and NGO partners to pull together all of the data and have it available on a single map.

On it, you'll find the current location of the tropical storm along with a projected path. Weather data is also displayed, radar and cloud imagery is available, as long as you can read it.

For those in the path of the tropical storm, there is info on evacuation routes as well as shelters. There are also videos, pulled from YouTube, of the storm as it progresses.
