Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Update Confirmed for Samsung GALAXY Note and GALAXY S II

Rumors on the upcoming Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for Samsung Galaxy devices have come and gone, but the South Korean company has yet to come forward with an official statement.

The folks over at SamMobile were among the first to leak details on the upcoming Jelly Bean updates for some of Samsung’s Galaxy smartphones, such as Galaxy S II and Galaxy S III.

They were citing a source close to the matter who claimed that Samsung had already successfully completed firmware tests for Samsung Galaxy S III, and that the update was expected to be launched in the following weeks.

A new confirmation on Jelly Bean for Galaxy S III came a few days ago when GSMArena was tipped that the update would be announced and released on August 29.

This comes in line with Samsung’s launch event that’s been confirmed for quite a while. Samsung plans to announce the Galaxy Note II on August 29, and it looks like this won’t be the only announcement made by the South Korean company at the end of the month.

Today, SamMobile reports that Samsung Galaxy S II is almost confirmed to receive the hotly anticipated Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean update.

The source of the rumor claims Samsung currently tests the Jelly Bean update for Galaxy S II and the first results seem to be more than promising.

In addition, the guys over at SamMobile have been able to confirm that Samsung Galaxy Note will also receive the Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean upgrade, though there are no details on the exact release date for the update.

Rumor has it that both updates will be made available via Samsung Kies desktop software, though an OTA (over the air) update is not out of the question. Stay tuned for more info on the matter.
