A Gamers Week: August 26

The Softpedia review of the week is for Darksiders II, the third-person action game from developer Vigil Games and publisher THQ.

We also have the usual Gamer Diaries, one of them linked to the Sword of Islam expansion for the grand strategy title Crusader Kings II and another of them detailing the video games I have seen during my recent trip to Gamescom 2012.

I also had time to play some Sleeping Dogs, the new action title from United Front Games and Square Enix, and have a Quick Look for it.

In the Weekend Reading space we deliver the usual pair: one about the upcoming 1.0.4 patch for Diablo III and another about the possibilities of digital trading of video games.

There’s also an EndWeekGame piece about our gaming time for the weekend and a selection of the most interesting news of the past week.

On Monday, a leak offered a large number of details about Dragon Age 3, a game that BioWare is already working on, while Rockstar delivered a number of new screenshots for Grand Theft Auto V, with a focus on vehicles.

Tuesday, Electronic Arts promised more security for the very popular Ultimate Team in FIFA 13 and BioWare Victory revealed that Command & Conquer: Generals 2 would lack a single-player mode.

Wednesday, Nintendo praised handhelds over phones and tablets and Treyarch detailed how they approach the development duties for Black Ops 2.

Thursday, the developers explained how a strong PC release for Sleeping Dogs helped the console versions and Team Ninja defended how women are portrayed in Dead or Alive 5.

Friday, High Moon talked about their creative freedom for the Deadpool video game and Konami detailed a new PES 2013 demo.

On Saturday, a leak revealed the Achievements for Halo 4 while Election 2012 is the tool to track the United States Presidential election on Xbox Live.
