TMS Announces Worlds Fastest PCIe Flash Storage Native Bootable Card

TMS is short for Texas Memory Systems, Inc. and this is an American company founded all the way back in 1978. Based in Huston, TSM has just launched the new RamSan-70 PCIe SSD card featuring up to 900 GB of SLC NAND.

This is a very interesting PCIe storage system as TMS’ RamSan-70 PCIe SSD card can boot an operating system without any RAID controller or legacy HDD present.

The RamSan-70 PCIe SSD card is a very expensive storage solution. Not only does it offer impressive features, but it also uses high-quality SLC NAND that brings greatly increased durability.

Durability and reliability is very important in the server business and TMS’ RamSan-70 PCIe SSD card brings exactly that.

The performance can really be characterized as “out of this world.”

The “900 GB Gorilla,” as TMS likes to call the 900 GB RamSan-70 PCIe SSD card, offers a maximum 2,500 MB/s transfer rate.

When compared with the 740 MB/s OCZ’s RevoDrive X2 brings, TMS’ “Gorilla” is 3.5 times faster.

When max IOPS is the measuring tool, the RamSan-70 PCIe SSD card manages to reach an amazing 1.2 million IOPS.

TSM’s RamSan-70 PCIe SSD card is also very fast at writing data and manages a mind-blowing 440,000 IOPS and that’s about 4 times faster than OCZ’s RevoDrive X2 PCIe SSD card.

The card is PCI-Express 2.0 compatible and needs 8 PCIe lanes to show its muscles.

There is no information on pricing available in the official press release, but we expect this to cost thousands of dollars.
