Man Claims Hair Growth Pill Propecia Turned Him into a Woman

Many men have used Propecia to halt baldness but few, if any, have gone through what William McKee went through. He claims that, after 9 months of taking the generic version of the hair growth drug on a daily basis, he turned into a woman.

McKee now goes by the name Mandi and is speaking out to warn other men against trying this baldness remedy – that is, unless they have plans of seeing their entire life turned upside down as well.

He tells the New York Post that he never felt like a woman trapped in a man's body, let alone be attracted by men, until he took Propecia because he'd noticed his hair was thinning.

Baldness is hereditary in his family, he says, so he noticed his hairline was receding when he was in his 20s.

By that time, he'd already seen the Propecia ads on TV, so he decided to give the drug a try.

He bought it online, from a company based in India and took it religiously for 9 months for every single day.

His hair did not become thicker or healthier, but he did notice something else was different about his body: he was turning into a woman.

“My rock-hard chest from the gym began to soften... reaching the point where I had noticeable 'breasts' even under my clothing,” he says.

He'd always been athletic and quite fond of working out but, out of the blue, he could no longer get rid of the “moobs.”

“My shoulders were literally falling into a more feminine position, and my hips were loosening and becoming wider, as on a woman’s body,” McKee further says for the Post.

He divorced his wife and would only see his son rarely as he plunged into a severe depression.

“It felt like the 'me' that I’ve always known was not there any more,” he says. He believes the effects may have been brought on by the generic finasteride, which was found in the pills.

Today, Mandi wears tight skirts and a blonde wig and documents his turmoils and his new life on a blog. Mandi is thinking of getting implants and gender-reassignment surgery, and is strictly attracted to men.

The Post notes that there's a class action lawsuit against Propecia, centralized in the Brooklyn federal court, with men from 27 states claiming alarming side effects from the drug, which range from hormonal changes to sexual ones.

Mandi can't join it because he took a generic version of the drug.
