Halo 4s Multiplayer Requires 8GB Mandatory Installation

Microsoft has revealed that the multiplayer mode of the upcoming Halo 4 will require an installation of around 8GB, meaning that those who own Xbox 360 models without large enough hard drivers and don’t have flash memory sticks won’t be able to experience the online action.

The Xbox 360’s reliance on the cramped DVD format and Microsoft’s decision to sell consoles without hard drives or with just a 4GB one has resulted in a variety of problems for owners of the console, from being forced to swap out DVDs or to insert memory sticks in order to store save game data.

Now, with the upcoming Halo 4, things get serious, as the game’s multiplayer mode has a mandatory installation that needs around 8GB of space.

"At a minimum, you'll need at least an 8GB USB Flash Drive or an Xbox 360 Hard Drive to play Multiplayer mode in Halo 4," Halo 4’s Xbox.com product page says. "For an optimal experience playing with an Xbox 360 Hard Drive is highly recommended."

Will this requirement force you to upgrade your Xbox 360 or are you going to enjoy the game’s single-player mode?
