Kobian is an Indian computer peripherals manufacturer, which is less-known outside the country. The important thing is that the company has just launched its third Android tablet, the mTab Rio.
Those who are not familiar with Kobian’s Android portfolio should know that the Indian company previously released the Mercury mTab and mTab Neo tablets that proved to be very popular among Android enthusiasts.
The mTab Rio features a 9.7-inch IPS capacitive touchscreen display and packs a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, which is complemented by 1GB of RAM.
Kobian’s mTab Rio is powered by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system and embeds 8GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD memory card.
On the back, the tablet sports a sub-par 2-megapixel photo snapper, while in the front there’s a secondary VGA camera for self-portraits and video calls.
Wi-Fi connectivity is available as well, while 3G is supported with the addition of a USB dongle. There’s also an HDMI port, which allows users to stream multimedia content to larger screens.
Even though the mTab Rio is not the cheapest tablet out there, the slate is surely bang for the buck, especially given its more than decent hardware configuration.
