The Master Gets New, Quite Intriguing Poster

If you're a Joaquin Phoenix fan like us, you must be on the edge of your seat for his comeback to the big screen, which will happen this October with “The Master.” Above is the first official poster for the film.

A lot has been said about the project, which already has two very promising trailers but, as it happens, none reveals too much about the plot.

Neither does the official poster, which you can see in full by clicking the image above.

We choose to believe the meaning of the poster will become clear once it's out or, if we're really lucky, before that, when more promo material is released.

In the meantime, it's interesting to note that Phoenix is billed before Philip Seymour Hoffman, who plays “the master,” a religious leader who inspires Joaquin's character.

Safe to say “The Master” will probably focus more on “the apprentice.”
