Marine Parasite Now Named After Singer Bob Marley

Just recently, researchers working with the Arkansas State University came across a new species of coral reef parasites and decided to name it after the late reggae singer Bob Marley.

The parasite, which from now on will be referred to as “Gnathia Marleyi,” is a creature that attaches itself to other fish and feeds on their blood.

Apparently, the decision to name this marine creature after Bob Marley was based on two reasons: firstly, one of the scientists deeply admires this performer; secondly, Gnathia Marleyi's natural habitat is restricted to the Caribbean region, which also happens to be the singer's birth place.

Hopefully, by continuing to associate wildlife with such celebrities, more people will take an active interest in ensuring their survival by protecting the natural world.
