Comedienne Lisa Lampanelli is turning over a new leaf and, as expected, her husband Jimmy Cannizarro is right there by her side. Both have had surgery on their stomach and have already lost a considerable amount of weight.
Lisa was on bethenny the other night to talk about how much lost she's dropped since she went under the knife, as the video below will confirm.
Lisa, who describes herself as a food lover who can't stop gaining weight, got the surgery about 10 weeks ago and is 52 pounds (23.5 kg) thinner.
Jimmy went under the knife a bit later, 8 weeks ago, and has already lost 36 pounds (16.3 kg).
Naturally, Lisa had a joke prepared for how Jimmy had turned her into a guinea pig, saying he'd promised her he'd get the intervention done as well if she got it first and didn't die on the table.
In the same interview, the star admits that she'd been overweight for most of her life, having tried “every diet out there” and eventually making peace with the idea that she would never be thin again.
Lisa says the surgery is costly but it can be done on insurance. Before considering going under the knife to solve a weight problem, though, she'd advise anyone out there to first try a healthy lifestyle, one that includes healthy food and lots of exercise.
“I said, 'this is the time'... We want to be a couple that's not the punch line anymore,” Lisa says of her and Jimmy's decision to get the surgery.
“I can get closer to Jimmy now that the stomach has gone down,” she giggles when asked how losing the weight has helped her love life.
