It’s been a while since Microsoft released any new personalization features for Windows 7 users, but a new customization option is now available for those who what to bring some more life to their desktops.

Made available for download as the Peru theme for Windows 7 computers, the new personalization option will bring a piece of this wonderful country to your desktops.

As the high-resolution images included in the theme show, this country has a lot of great things to unveil to the entire world.

Whether it comes to traditions, landscapes, ancient ruins or the variety of fruits, vegetables and foods available in Peru, people are bound to be impressed.

Even if you are not be able to travel to Peru to see all of these in person, you can still get an idea of what the country has to offer through the new free theme available for Windows 7 computers.

“A country of rich cultural traditions, ancient ruins, and tropical forests, Peru encompasses a varied geography, rising from the Pacific coast into the Andes Mountains,” Microsoft notes.

“The images in this free Windows 7 theme provide a colorful glimpse into this beautiful South American country,” the theme’s description reads.

Made available for download on Windows 7 Home Premium, Professional, Enterprise, or Ultimate editions, the new Windows 7 theme should work just fine on Windows 8 pre-release flavors as well.

After all, Microsoft did promise that Windows 7 software would be compatible with the upcoming next-generation operating system.

To install the theme, simply hit the download link below, and the theme installer in Windows will automatically launch and add the package to the list of available personalization options on your computer.

To select the theme, go to Control Panel > Appearance and personalization > Personalization (available through right click on the desktop, Personalize), where all the installed themes are listed.
