Another Day Another Chrome High Art Project (That Doesn't Work in Chrome)

Google's not done with museum collaborations for the day, London museums to be precise. It unveiled the Web Lab at the Science Museum in London and it's now introducing what it calls an "online art experiment" dubbed This Exquisite Forest in collaboration with the Tate Modern museum, also in London.

The idea is to get people to work together on a piece of art, or many pieces of art, and have people build on each other’s' ideas. You get to create an animation, that others will then be able to expand or alter, or you can start working on the animation that someone else created.

Google built the website to enable this on Google App Engine and relying on modern web technologies. This being Google, it's using the opportunity to advertise Chrome.

You can't use the app with any other browser, not necessarily because it won't work but because Google blocked them. Ironically, the website crashes in Chrome 22 dev (on Linux at least). It loads fine in Firefox though, but you can't do anything useful.
