The Wii U is the Tool of Together, According to Nintendo

The current generation of devices has evolved to be all about shared experiences and multiplayer gaming and regardless of the parameters used Nintendo is way behind Microsoft and Sony in this field and has never been able to deliver an experience that directly competes with Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network.

The company is eager to change that and is making some big promises regarding the upcoming Wii U home console.

During the official E3 2012 press conference the company repeatedly used the tagline “Together.Better” and Reggie Fils-Aime, the man leading the presentation for Nintendo, said that his company was focused on social experiences.

Nintendo also sought to make it clear that its own approach to multiplayer and social gaming is very different from that of its two main rivals, Microsoft and Sony.

The video game developer repeated concepts like family and friends, implicitly promising that none of the problematic language and the coarse interaction from Xbox Live and PSN will slid unto the Wii U.

The promise of Wii U is “Together. Better” and the concept will be realized by using the new touch screen controller of the new console and more classical looking Wii U Pro peripheral, which has also revealed during E3.

One potential problem for the Wii U is that the new hardware platform is still designed to mostly deliver living room based experience and new games and social experiences might stress its network infrastructure at first.

The gaming world widely expected to see the Nintendo Wii U get a solid launch date during E3 2012 but once again the company behind it has postponed that crucial announcement.

They did, however, narrow down the launch date by saying that, on major markets, the Wii U will be launched before the crucial Christmas shopping season, which probably points to a late November date.
