NintendoLand Is Wii U Launch Title, Combines Single and Multiplayer

The original Nintendo Wii would have not achieved its tremendous popularity without a solid slate of launch titles and the company behind the console plans to replicate the strategy by partnering up the upcoming Wii U with the newly revealed NintendoLand.

NintendoLand combines some of the best elements of previous titles in core franchises from the company, but does so in a novel manner and there’s no sign that any kind of content is straight up recycled.

The original Mii avatar that the user has created will be able to visit a number of 12 locations linked to older games and will then be turned into the characters that are available for that particular title.

Gamers will be able to visit friends and family in order to group up with player or will be able to explore the games and the locations on his own.

The player who has the Wii U tablet controller will be the one assuming a special role in the game, because he has more control options and more information about the game.

In Luigi’s Mansion ghosts will be following the player groups and the player with the touch screen will be able to see the ghost at all times and guide his group around in order to get to safety.

Nintendoland seems like a way to both introduce innovative gameplay linked to the new control options of the Wii U home console and an effort to make sure that gamers have the social experience that Nintendo has so far failed to deliver.

The Nintendo Wii U is set to mark the start of the new console cycle but the hardware developer has disappointed players by not announcing a definitive launch date for the new device.

The company says that it will be launching it on all major markets before the main Christmas shopping period.
