VTX3D Presents X-Edition Radeon HD 7770 and 7870

There's nothing like an international trade show to get companies together and try to one-up each other. That said, VTX3D has cheerfully brought out a pair of factory-overclocked graphics cards.

Although visitors have been on site for days, the Computex 2012 trade show has officially begun today (June 06, 2012) and will last until June 09.

TUL Corporation is there, of course, showing off devices from its multiple sub-brands, one of which is VTX3D.

There are two products from VTX3D that deserve at least a passing glance: the Radeon HD 7870 X-Edition and Radeon HD 7770 X-Edition.

Both of them push their graphics processors to faster speeds than AMD's stock ratings.

The Radeon HD 7770 X-Edition operates at 1,150 MHz for the Cape Verde GPU and 1,250 MHz (5 GHz effective) speed for the 1 GB of GDDR5 VRAM.

640 Graphics CoreNext stream processors are present, along with a red PCB and a 128-bit memory interface.

For the sake of comparison, the standard adapter is set at 1,000 MHz and 1,125 MHz (4.5 GHz), respectively.

Meanwhile, the Radeon HD 7870 X-Edition is clocked at 1,100 MHz for the Pitcairn GPU and 1,225 MHz (4.9 GHz) for the 2 GB of GDDR5 VRAM. A visible rise compared to the reference 1,000 MHz and 1,200 MHz (4.8 GHz).

There are more stream processors than on the 7770 X (1,280) and a wider memory interface too (256 bits).

Unfortunately, the company did not say what prices the two new products would sport or when shipments would begin. It's also worth mentioning that the coolers aren't different from those that AMD uses, with the exception of their colors (red and black are inverted).

People seeking something more unique might wish to turn their attention in the direction of Club 3D’s Radeon HD 7870 Eyefinity 6 adapter, Sapphire's 860 MHz Radeon HD 7950 Flex Edition or, for those with deep wallets, ASUS's ROG Matrix 7970 or ASUS 8 GB Dual GTX 680 Mars III.
