Usher is a respected artist but also a very handsome man, of which he's very aware. Asked in a recent interview whether he'd ever trade his good looks in, he says he's not quite so sure he'd do without them.
It's no secret that Usher is one of the most attractive male presences on the R&B scene right now, so perhaps it wouldn't do for him to feign modesty.
“If I could turn [being] this good-looking down, I mean, I don't know that I would,” Usher says, presumably when he's asked whether he believes looks are important to be successful in the industry.
“I was fortunately blessed with these good looks, I may as well do something with them, you know what I mean? I think we're all just trying to live up to Sean Connery, the epitome of cool,” he adds.
As for his music and his business career in the industry, Usher likes to live every day as if it were his last one, while telling himself that everything he does is “genius.”
Considering that he's the man who discovered and offered support to Justin Bieber, now the most famous singer of the younger generation, millions of (female) fans from around the world would agree with him: some of his decisions were pure “genius.”
“I live every day like it's my last. I approach everything I ever do as though it's the most genius thing ever, regardless of whether it is or not,” the “OMG” hitmaker says.
“'I really do believe something incredible is happening every moment I'm able to continue to do this. So I wanna live in it. Enjoy every waking moment. And I really do,” Usher adds in the same interview.
He also recalls how he would annoy everybody when he was little by telling them he'd be a “superstar” when he'd grow up, something his mother advised him against.
Obviously, back then, he didn't know yet he'd also be this good looking, if one may be allowed the innocent joke.
