Nokia Asha Touch Devices Now Official: 305, 306 and 311


Today, Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia has announced the launch of three new devices in its Asha series, all three of them featuring only touchscreens, namely the Nokia Asha 305, Nokia Asha 306 and Nokia Asha 311.

Included in the company’s new Asha Touch series, these phones bring the number of Asha devices up to 10. The first of them were launched in October last year, now available in over 130 markets around the world.

True to Nokia's goal to connect the next billion consumers, the new handsets can provide users with a rich, smartphone-like experience by offering them fast internet connectivity, long-lasting battery life, social networking on the go, and a new, fully re-designed touch user interface.

Nokia Asha 311 comes to the market with a 1GHz processor, a 3.0-inch WQVGA capacitive touchscreen display, 256MB of internal memory, and microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.

It also features a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper on the back, HSPA connectivity, WLAN, Bluetooth 2.1, Micro USB 2.0, Proximity Sensor and Ambient Light Sensor, preloaded Nokia Maps, and a 15 level pre-bundled version of Angry Birds.

The handset also comes with pre-loaded Facebook and Twitter clients to enable users to stay on top of their social lives, and it can deliver a great Internet browsing experience through the Nokia Browser.

Nokia Asha 306 is the most affordable Wi-Fi Nokia handset to date. It arrives on shelves with a 3.0 WQVGA resistive touchscreen, 2 MP camera, support for 32GB memory cards, GPRS/EDGE, Bluetooth 2.1, Micro USB 2.0 and, Accelerometer.

The mobile phone packs a battery capable of delivering up to 25 days of standby time, a preloaded social application to offer access to Facebook and Twitter networks, and great email and messaging capabilities.

As for Nokia Asha 305, it is a new dual-SIM device from the Finnish vendor, packing the same 3.0-inch WQVGA resistive touchscreen as 306, but featuring Easy Swap capabilities for those who need two SIM cards at the same time.

The mobile phone packs the same features and capabilities as the Nokia Asha 306, including color options such as Silver White, Red, Mid Blue and Dark Grey.

"These phones deliver on what young, urban people value most – a great-looking device; and an intuitive and affordable experience for connecting to the internet, to their friends, and to a world of entertainment, web apps and content."

All three phones were designed to offer entertainment capabilities as well, and they will provide users with 40 EA games to download for free and keep forever. Tetris, Bejeweled, Need for Speed The Run and EA SPORTS FIFA 12 are only some of these.

Nokia
expects to start shipping the Nokia Asha 305 in the second quarter of the year, with an estimated retail price of €63 ($79) before taxes and subsidies.

Nokia Asha 306 and Asha 311 are expected to become available in the third quarter of the year, the former with a retail price of €68 ($85) attached to it, and the latter priced at €92 ($115).
